Forever Business Opportunity - Will it work for you?
We are Forever
Plant to Product to You
Claire started her business in January 2014 whilst on maternity leave from a career in education…
I had been searching for a way for me to be a full-time mum but not have to compromise on lifestyle. I suppose when I look back, I also knew I craved success, financial independence and that I wanted to set a great example for my children.
Very quickly I had developed an income that gave me the confidence in myself and belief in the company that I could develop a serious career with Forever and I made the decision not to return to work at the end of my maternity leave in June 2014. In fact, six months in and I was earning more than my full-time monthly wage, working part time around my daughter.
This wasn’t without a very sceptical start. Network marketing was new to me and seeing for myself that I could, in fact, develop a serious career, as well as feeling fulfilled as a mum, made me feel both excited and sceptical. I could see others developing successful businesses so I developed the attitude that if they can, maybe with some work on myself then I could too!
I came with a huge desire to change my life and a great work ethic. This saw me quickly progress through the marketing plan and go on to qualify for the car, travel and chairman’s bonus programmes. My income allowed us to get a mortgage on a house we wouldn’t have been able to previously, which was a huge goal for us and our growing family.
I now continue to develop my business as a full-time mum to three young daughters; Bella, 5, Sadie, 3 and Minnie 1. We have enjoyed not only a dramatic change in lifestyle that the income from my business has given us but also the time it has given us as a family.
I feel free, that’s the best way to describe it. I won’t miss a thing with my children because I’m in charge of my diary. I’m not aware of another opportunity that would enable us the same work life balance, lifestyle and financial security we have currently.
Forever is a way of living for us, not just a job that I pick up for an hour or two at a time and because of this I’m able to show the girls that by working hard and smart, anything is possible if you’re bold enough to chase after your dreams. I use the nooks and crannies of the day to work my business, and the beauty of it for me is that many of the business-building activities are incorporated into life as a busy mum, perfect!
Our girls are growing up in a positive environment, with people with great attitudes, and around other children that we meet on the trips away with Forever. The travel incentives have been really special to us. I’ve used them as a way to enable the girls to see parts of the world that we wouldn’t have been able to prior to me starting my business. I feel privileged that the company has invested in me, as the training and the people we have met as part of those trips have been incredible.
I’m driven by being able to show others that you can absolutely have both! You can have the time with your children whilst they’re young without having to sacrifice income, career satisfaction and personal development.
My passion is to help others to see the potential in the marketing plan and help them to learn the skills necessary to make the changes they’re looking to make to their lives. I’m a very proud Network Marketing Professional and am really excited about the future not only for our family but for the people we work alongside and the industry as a whole.
A BUSINESS THAT’S MORE THAN MONEY...
Mohammed and Shomirun have been Forever Business Owners for many years and they have recently achieved the coveted position of Sapphire Manager. Sapphire Managers have at least nine personally-sponsored Managers in their downline and are able to earn an additional 1% on their income. This percentage may sound small, but it can actually make a significant difference to an income!
Forever’s Editor, Kate Hodge, caught up more about his journey to Sapphire…
KH: WHAT WAS LIFE LIKE BEFORE FOREVER?
MA: My sponsor and I were in another network marketing company for about a year before we found Forever, and although we were excited about the business opportunity, the products weren’t consumable. We therefore decided not to continue and instead I used my time to focus on my traditional businesses; this included running a transport company.
KH: HOW DID YOU DISCOVER FOREVER?
MA: After a few years, in 1997, Shareef called me to say he had found another exciting company which was well established. We arranged to meet and I joined Forever immediately after listening to his one-to-one presentation. However, I started to lose interest in the idea after talking to my friends and family as their reaction was fairly negative. Despite this, my sponsor had recommended several products to me so I gave them a try anyway and, in a short period of time, I was surprised to find good results. I was so impressed that I sat down for a planning meeting with my sponsor, made some serious commitments, set goals and became Manager within two months! That’s when I decided to give up on all the other businesses I had so that I could focus purely on Forever.
KH: WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO CONTINUE RUNNING YOUR BUSINESS AFTER ALL THESE YEARS?
MA: Over the course of the last nineteen years I have been approached by many people from other MLM companies, but none ever captured my interest as they were all just about the money. I feel extremely lucky to be a Forever Business Owner because I am not only receiving an income, but I am also blessed to have access to products that benefit my wellbeing. Today I drive the car of my choice, I can earn a slice of the company’s profit, I have travelled the world, and I have an income that I can save for my pension. The business really is so simple, and the best advice I could give new Forever Business Owners is to use all the products, attend all the meetings, and share the products and opportunity with absolutely everyone you meet.
KH: HOW HAS FOREVER YOUR LIFE?
MA: Forever has given me back time with my family, and it’s given me stability – before I was finding it hard to make ends meet! I want to thank Shareef for giving me courage, making me believe that I can be successful, showing me the light when I couldn’t see, and for travelling with me everywhere just to make me successful. We will certainly be friends FOREVER! I want to tell everyone in my team that I love them so much; without them I wouldn’t be where I am today, and I would like to thank Rex for creating a profitable environment where individuals like myself, can become, with dignity, what they want to become – thank you!
"I feel extremely lucky to be a Forever Business Owner because I am not only receiving an income, but I am also blessed to have access to products that benefit my wellbeing."
FUELLED BY FITNESS
I joined the business through my love of the products and at that time I was also training to be a personal trainer, a job which I thought would fit around the children and mean I didn't have to give up my passion – fitness! I'd been a stay-at-home mum for six years at this point; I was lucky as I didn’t have to work, but I really missed my financial independence and that sense of providing for the family.
I spent the first year retailing, mainly the sports and weight management products, and I built a great retail business, but I was petrified when it came to building a team. I had little belief that anyone would listen to me and I worried about their opinions, so I sat happily at Supervisor for about ten months. Then, in February 2014, my third child was born and everything changed.
I met up with my upline who gave me a small nudge and I left that meeting with self-belief, a fire in my belly and a huge desire to have something more. I spent a lot of time working with my team, working on my self-development and learning to get better in all areas of the business, and I’ve developed a passion for helping others and seeing in them something they don't. I have recently separated from my husband and it’s been incredibly challenging, but Forever has given me the financial stability to start my life again. I now work Forever around three beautiful children and I've still not had to give up on my fitness passion. In fact, Forever has enabled me to achieve more. The products have changed my performance in the gym – I use Forever Aloe Vera Gel, Forever Arctic Sea and Argi+ daily, and Forever Pro X2 bars and Forever Lite Ultra are also staple snacks in my life.
I use my attitude to training in the gym to benefit my mindset in the business. When you want to achieve a goal in the gym you have to dedicate time to learning how that’s done, you have to be passionate and fired up enough so that the goal is tunnel vision, and you have to take daily consistent action! There will be tough days where you feel it’s not possible, but you just support yourself with a good coach who encourages you, and when you are training in the gym at times when others are out socialising, you hear things like 'lighten up' or 'you're crazy', but you go even on the days you don't want to because the goal is that important to you – my success in Forever has been down to applying this exact mindset to my business!
FITNESS, FREEDOM AND FOREVER
After seventeen years in the military, Dewi Winkle from Ripon, North Yorkshire, took the decision to embark on a career in sport and event management. It was a difficult decision but, alongside working as a triathlon coach, he wanted to be involved in creating events that challenged people.
The last eleven years have seen him working in a variety of posts including roles at the Asian Games in Doha, working for British Triathlon, operating as an open water swim coach in the Caribbean and Mediterranean, and co-ordinating challenge events for a military charity. Eventually Dewi settled down in North Yorkshire with his partner Dawn where he manages The Wattbike Studio, trains triathletes and organises the annual iconic Scilly Swim Challenge on the Isles of Scilly. With a passion for motivating others and guiding people into a healthier lifestyle, it was perfect timing when he met Global F.I.T. Ambassador Mike Butterworth and his partner Lindsey Jackson…
Dewi says:
I recall Mike saying, “You come across as a personable and enthusiastic coach, might you be interested to learn about a business that might suit you?” Obviously I answered yes. I was really intrigued and excited; the business model, products and team-building hit a chord with me as I wanted to sell products that tied into my work at the studio. Forever’s products were perfect for my varied customers and the more I learned the better the opportunity seemed.
I’ve been in the business eighteen months now and I still ensure I achieve my 4CCs every month. I want to continue building my retail business and team, and I’ve recognised that the only barriers are the ones that I put up myself. I am really appreciative of having an opportunity that allows me to work when and where I want, at the pace I decide. Stepping out of my comfort zone has been essential, and I’ve come to realise that this will be a business that continues to educate me.
Living in the Yorkshire Dales, being surrounded by loyal people and deciding how I choose to work really suits me; having a job that allows me to improve people’s fitness, self-esteem and wellbeing has made me very grateful. There aren’t many jobs that allow you to give people a business, and that’s a real privilege – thank you Forever!
BELIEVE YOU CAN DO IT
Emma used to work in finance within the oil and gas industry, but realising her job was unstable caused Emma to shift her focus…
I’m mum to two boys, Mikey, nine, and Caiden, sixteen months. I was introduced to Forever when thirty weeks pregnant with my second son. Michele, my sponsor, asked me to share a post on Facebook about earning an extra income, and since I was soon to be on maternity leave I was intrigued as to what it was about. I signed up the next day.
I was determined to reach my first promotion before Caiden was born. I did what I was told, listened to all the training, started talking about the products and I built a team. I reached my first promotion five days before he was born. I continued to work hard building my team but when he was eight weeks old my relationship broke down and I became a single mum. I had been a single mum before; I raised Mikey by myself until he was five, but my confidence had taken a hit. Although I still worked the business, I didn't work it as hard as I could or should have. I didn't believe that I could be a success and go all the way any more. But then something changed...
In the middle of November, whilst I was still on maternity leave, I received a phone call to say that there were going to be redundancies at work and my job was one they were looking to cut. The following weekend I attended my first ever Success Express event in Glasgow. It was amazing. The atmosphere was electric and I received my Supervisor promotion. I came home that night and cried, not just because I'd driven five hours in the snow, but because I could see the impact the opportunity could have on my family.
In December my business doubled. I was made redundant but I didn't care as I knew everything would be ok and from then on my business continued to grow. I now work part-time as a payroll and bookkeeping assistant for an accountant’s, which I love, and thanks to Forever I have been able to take my kids to Legoland (Mikey had it on the goal board). I just love that I have spare time to spend with my boys!
I now believe that anything is possible. I used to be really negative, believing that the successful person could never be me, but now I know I can have it all and more. All it takes is hard work and the belief you can do it.
"I just love that I have spare time to spend with my boys!"
A NEW FOUND FREEDOM
Natasha Dykes found herself in a demanding career with no further progression before her mind was opened to an opportunity that changed her life…
I graduated in 2009 and took off around the world for eight months with my partner, which was a lifetime experience. My working life started on my return and I found myself in the financial industry. Although it wasn’t the industry I wanted to be in for life, I was given the opportunity to effectively double my income by obtaining qualifications. Within two years I achieved these qualifications but discovered my earning potential was capped. Being somewhat ambitious, I continued to work towards chartered status, but I vividly remember feeling quite disheartened when I realised there was no more personal or financial recognition. I knew there had to be more to life than being stuck in a rut with no opportunities for progression.
Fortunately, Forever found me in February 2014. My mum had recently started Forever and, as you can imagine, I was fairly negative and sceptical. This was due to being fully immersed in the rat race. However, after taking a look at the business opportunity I could immediately see the huge potential and the time and freedom it would give me.
I grabbed the opportunity and ran with it despite being struck by negativity from people, and I hit my first promotion in seven weeks – I felt as if I needed to prove to friends and family that the business worked. Despite this, my journey to Senior Manager was not the fastest; it took me sixteen months to get here but I learnt a lot about myself along the way. I came across challenges and obstacles and I realised that not everyone will immediately see what I saw.
My ultimate goal was to ‘sack the boss’, and in January 2015 I wrote this goal down and noted that I wanted to handmy notice in by September 2015 – and that’s exactly what I did! Goal-setting is a very powerful thing and it’s incredible to think I am now a free lady. Forever has enabled me to travel more and it enabled me to purchase my dream car outright – I don’t say this to impress anyone, but to impress upon the power of Forever. I am only just beginning, and now my mission is to serve and help many others create the life of their dreams as well.
"I knew there had to be more to life than being stuck in a rut with no opportunities for progression."
A passion for business by Daniel Watson – Manager
In a business saturated by headstrong women, Daniel Watson, an undefeated professional boxer and tattoo artist from Bolton, certainly stands out from the crowd. Our Editor, Kate Hodge, caught up with him at his studio – which is no ordinary tattoo studio – to find out more about why Daniel, a reformed fighter, decided to join Forever.
Why did you decide to look at Forever?
I have been tattooing now for ten years and I love what I do, but my main passion has always been business. I had always been interested in network marketing and I researched several companies, but few offered me something I could believe in. That’s when my physio (now mentor), Alison Thompson, introduced me to Forever.
It was July 6th 2015, just two days after I had spoken to Alison, when I decided to sign up. With her help I had my first product launch party; I invited my mum and her friends, my sister and her friends and also some people that I thought may be interested in joining my business. It was a success, and from this I managed to get a few regular customers and my first few team members. Within twenty days I had been promoted to Supervisor, and I decided that I was going to by-pass Assistant Manager and go straight for Manager instead.
How did you see the business fitting in with your lifestyle?
I decided to capitalise on the fact I am a male in a predominantly female business; I certainly wasn’t going to let it worry me. I knew I had many male friends that would do well, and I knew once they saw me achieving they would join too, and many have. Integrating the products into my daily life became a natural thing;
Argi+ and the shakes fit with my sporting side and the Aloe Vera Gelly can even be used on tattoos once they have passed the initial healing point. I also often do the C9 and post my progress on Facebook, and since my network knows I’m a professional boxer, the good results I achieve help build belief in the products.
Why do you think you have been so successful?
I was determined to achieve Manager in August, and by the 16th of the month I had successfully secured the position. Part of this fast progression was down to the support I was giving to my customers. I asked them to recommend the products to anyone they thought would benefit from them, and within no time I had around twenty customers and ten people on my team. People keep asking me what my secret is, but it just takes hard work and dedication; anyone can do it as everything you need is already there for you. The products appeal to a wide range of people so it’s easy to connect with a market, but I’m not afraid to get stuck in – I’ll happily run a makeup party if necessarily!
I also focus a lot of my time on studying the business. I knew that developing my knowledge would form a massive part of effective prospecting, and I wanted to be able to quickly answer any question or doubt. I live and breathe business, and those that know me know I wouldn’t risk investing my time in something that doesn’t work.
For the past nine years I have been working as a qualified PE teacher, and so when I first learnt about Forever I didn’t see the opportunity as more than a means of extra income. However, after about two months – once I’d carried out some heavy research and retailing – I found myself hooked.
I quickly fell in love with the company when I saw how my business, and my wonderful uplines, could flourish. I too then started to recruit others and I loved sharing the opportunity. I now have an amazing team that consists of both existing and new friends, and I am so grateful for how they are all helping me with my journey.

Leap to London – the incentive you simply can’t afford to ignore
October-06-2023
You’re probably aware of the recently announced Leap to London incentive – your opportunity to qualify for the first European Forever event in 2024, which we are incredibly excited and proud to be hosting! What is Leap to London?
Over 2,000 Forever Business Owners will be gathered at Magazine in London from the 2nd to the 4th of February, where qualifiers will enjoy two nights hotel accommodation, three days at the event including a training, Success Day, access to an exclusive party and, training and inspiration as well as £150 or €150 travel compensation.
Why are incentives important in building your business?
Forever Business Owner, Aine French, has qualified for numerous Forever incentives including Eagle Managers’ Retreat and the June ‘Yes You Cannes’ incentive, and says, “Incentives have been life-changing for me. I grasped early on how incentives could drive my business. As a single Mum, my need to join Forever was all about income and in the beginning, I had little confidence and self-belief. Fast forward to now and I can’t overstate how important the recognition, and opportunity to travel and meet other Forever Business Owners has been for me. Inspiring and energising me to build my business, building my confidence and skills through those interactions and the training at those events. I really am a different person; personal achievement and recognition build you in ways you can’t even begin to imagine.
From a practical perspective, the short-term focus required over the qualifying period really helps me to define my activities daily, track my progress and stay motivated with a very clear vision of what I need to achieve over that time frame and how I am going to do it. I bought my ticket to Cannes within days of that incentive being announced, I was absolutely determined that I was going to qualify. What makes me particularly excited about Leap to London is that is also so achievable for my team and being in London with them will be the icing on the cake for me. I really do have the most special memories from my Forever trips and I want everyone to experience that too.”
Eagle Manager, Bernie Rafferty, who delivered her own tips for success on the first ‘London is Calling – Committed to Leap to London’ webinar added, “With the qualifying period being part of the run-up to Christmas, this incentive is so achievable. Incentives drive your business wherever you are on the Marketing Plan. They are powerful because you feel you are making progress and small increases are the stepping stones to bigger increases. Honing the skills in recruiting and helping your team members grow their businesses is fundamental to long-term success. This incentive provides that focus and the results will build your business and set you up for further growth and success in 2024.”

Instead of wasting approximately 30,000 kilograms of waste rind, we grind it up and put it back into the soil as a natural fertiliser. We do not use chemical fertilisers on any of our aloe plants
Our world-famous aloe goats fertilise the fields naturally
Forever aloe fields house over fifty million aloe vera plants, so these fields will cleanse the earth of millions of tons of CO2 in their lifetime
We are proud of our achievement in gaining a Global Green Beauty Award for our Forever Aloe Vera Gel, but we’re not stopping there. Because we recognise there is always room for improvement in this area.

Meet our new Forever Brand Ambassador: Simone Magill
August-29-2023
Forever UK, Ireland and Iceland are delighted to welcome Simone Magill to the Forever Family.
About Simone
Simone currently plays for Aston Villa, following a move from Everton, who she joined aged eighteen. She has earned over 70 caps playing for Northern Ireland and made her debut at the age of just 15.
The striker has scored 21 goals and holds the World Record for the fastest ever goal at International Level, scored in 11 seconds against Georgia in 2016 (even more impressive is that Georgia kicked off...).
As well as being a professional football player, Simone is studying for a PhD in the Sociology of Sport, as well as running her own podcast: ‘Born and Bred’. Simone’s successful career along with her strong work ethic and determination make her an inspiring role model for so many young women who also dream of becoming professional footballers.
Why did Simone become a Forever ambassador?
Commenting on her ambassador role, Simone said: “I’ve been using Forever’s products for some time now. Since my knee injury a year ago, my ACL surgery and the road to recovery, I have taken a deep dive into thoroughly researching and understanding the products that will best support me in becoming the best athlete and footballer I can be. As I have got to know Forever Living and its brand values, it was a natural fit for me to become an ambassador.”

How your favourite Forever products are environmentally friendly
June-05-2020
Monday 8th June 2020 is #WorldOceansDay and the products you use in your day to day life can have a profound effect on the environment.
Doing right by the planet is an important part of everything we do at Forever. From ensuring we farm responsibly at our aloe plantations in Texas and the Dominican Republic, to continually working to reduce our carbon footprint with our distribution, we want to ensure we do our part for the land and sea. But the products you use on a day to day basis can have a profound impact, too, particularly if we all work together to make waves.
To give you a starting point, here's a guide into how some of your favourite Forever products do their part.
Aloe Sunscreen
Aloe Sunscreen is a water-resistant formula, which offers SPF 30 broad spectrum protection against UVA and UVB rays, while locking in moisture with soothing inner leaf aloe. But keeping your family protected is not all that this fantastic sunscreen does.
Coral reefs play a vital role in the delicate ecosystem of our world’s oceans, but many sunscreens contain chemicals that bleach and kill coral reefs. Forever’s Aloe Sunscreen contains non-nanosized natural zinc oxide, so it is reef safe. While you can use Aloe Sunscreen all year round in any country (yes, you need sunscreen in the UK, too, even on a cloudy day!) you can also prepare for the day when travel is back on the agenda by making sure your first dip in the sea doesn’t have a negative effect on the coral life there.
Aloe Bio-Cellulose Mask
Forever’s Aloe Bio-Cellulose Mask provides potent hydration to the skin, which can work well as an after-sun skin treat. Its bio-cellulose fibres fit the contours of your face to deeply moisturise and ensure every impressive botanical ingredient penetrates the fine lines and wrinkles traditional sheet masks fail to reach.
But it doesn’t stop there. While many sheet masks are made of synthetic materials which, once used, simply go to landfill, our Aloe Bio-Cellulose Mask is fully compostable! Once you’ve finished with the mask, you can either add it to your compost bin or your garden, where it will break down. Perfect for keeping your face and the environment feeling fresh!
Experience them together
From 5th June to 30th June 2020, we’re running a very special offer on these two phenomenal products to allow you to make the most of the summer months with skin protection and hydration. You can, for this limited time, buy two Aloe Sunscreen and two Aloe Bio-Cellulose Mask sachets in a specially designed gift bag for £36.40!
And they’re not the only Forever products which do their part for the environment!
Smoothing Exfoliator
If you’re looking to uncover silky, soft and healthy-looking skin, why not give Forever’s Smoothing Exfoliator at try? Instead of using artificial microbeads, which are bad for the environment, Smoothing Exfoliator uses natural jojoba beads and bamboo powder to buff away dead skin cells without harming the skin or the environment. It also contains added lemon essential oil to work as a rich moisturiser to hydrate the new skin beneath the surface, making it a perfect skin treat!
Forever Aloe MPD 2X Ultra
Whether it’s a thorough spring-clean, a Hinch-style to-list, or the daily washing up, we all need to clean our houses. The problem is that so many unassuming household products contain toxic chemicals that end up going down the drain and often into waterways. Forever Aloe MPD 2X Ultra is a multi-purpose cleaner that can replace those toxic varieties with an effective solution made with environmentally friendly and biodegradable ingredients. As it’s all-purpose, you can effectively lift grime, cut through grease and remove stains anywhere from your bathroom tiles to your carpet, or from your clothes to your dishes!
Aloe Vera Gel
And of course, how could we write this blog post without mentioning our flagship product, ForeverAloe Vera Gel? Not only is our famous drinking gel made with 99.7% inner leaf aloe gel which is great for skin, the immune system and digestion, but the packaging of this product is made from 100% recyclable materials! That includes our flavoured varieties, too: Aloe Berry Nectar and Aloe Peaches. We sell thousands of these bottles each year in the UK alone, so we love to know that our packaging can be reused instead of being dumped in landfills or waterways. How will you look to reduce your environmental impact this World Ocean’s Day? Let us know in the comments.

Lindsey Jackson has been a business owner with Forever for around 13 years and is now a Senior Manager in the business. She also runs her own Pilates and fitness training classes atEnhance Wellbeing. Following on from our active dance classes and C9 fitness classes with Kristina Rihanoff in May, we’re switching things up a bit in June as Lindsey goes live with us on our Facebook page to help us find balance and inner strength. Read her story below and don’t forget to tune in every #WorkoutWednesday at 1pm on Facebook!
Welcome to a month of Pilates! I’d like to take you on a journey of discovering your inner strength!
We tend to think of fitness as running, cycling, HIIT and weights. Of course, cardio and strength is important; for years I taught all of the aerobic fitness styles because I love them! Then one day I discovered Pilates and life changed: it became more balanced.
To give you an idea of my background, I was in NHS management, then consultancy and training. I discovered Forever about 13 years ago when a class member told me about the company. With 2 small children my life had got busy, and I was teaching too many classes in the evenings. So, I decided to weave my part time hobby, Pilates and fitness training, in with this new-found Forever business - and the rest is history.
Like many, I discovered that being flexible and working from home around small children was unconventional, but brilliant. I’m now a Senior Manager in Forever and have qualified for 8 Chairman’s Bonus cheques - trips and rewards I’d have never achieved just teaching my classes.
I’d love to help you discover that strength is an inside job! Core strength and postural strength give you much more than just the physical benefits. With Pilates comes improved mindful movement, better breathing, stress reduction, focus, determination and patience. All attributes for life AND for your Forever business.
So, whether you’d like to develop a flatter tummy or stronger back, or just ‘balance’ your current fitness with something less energetic (but incredibly effective) then get ready for our Wednesday slot at 1pm every week in June.
I’ll be covering some basic techniques first (for those new to the practice), followed by some progressively harder workouts that you can move on to in time. If you’re already into Pilates, the later sessions will be a great chance to revise your technique or hear from a different teacher and then to apply this new knowledge to all that you do. I’ll be delivering the following classes over the next few weeks: Wednesday 3rd June - how to engage your inner muscles and fire up that powerhouse. What is Pilates all about? Wednesday 10th June - some simple moves that will keep you mobile, release tension and start to build your strength from the inside. Wednesday 17thJune - putting it together in some flowing moves. Discover areas you want to improve so that you can set some goals for improvement. Wednesday 24th June - Some more dynamic moves that require flexibility and strength but will be fun to try.
As a Pilates teacher for 25 years I’ve seen what works. I know that it’s quality over quantity every time that brings results. In just 40 mins a week together, you’ll become aware of tension you repeatedly hold in your body and ways to unravel some of the stresses of life. If you’re already fit and sporty, you’ll improve flexibility, reduce the chances of injury and create physical and mental balance.
I hope that you’ll love it so much that you’ll want to keep Pilates in your life and explore this exciting form further with me. If you have any questions please feel free to find me on my Facebook page Enhance Wellbeing, but in the meantime don’t forget that these #WorkoutWednesday sessions will be taking place on the main Forever Living UK & Ireland Facebook page, kicking off the 3rd June at 1pm. See you on the mat!

Over the past few months, things have been very different for many people, and with all the change and uncertainty, it is natural for even the most optimistic person to feel anxious. Whilst it is so important to maintain a positive mindset amid all of the changes to our daily lives, staying positive isn’t always easy.
But keeping a positive frame of mind is not only important for ourselves, it is also really important for those around us too. Positive thinking can not only help with stress management, it can also help with mental and physical wellbeing.
Now more than ever, it is really important to stay productive, and be proactive about creating small moments of happiness each day. Here are some of our suggestions to help you get started: Take care of yourself. With day to day distractions being removed from our busy schedules, now is the perfect time to make sure we are looking after ourselves. Eating well and getting plenty of rest and exercise will help you to feel healthier both physically and mentally. Write down five things you’re grateful for, every morning. Focus your mind on the things you are grateful for, and write them down. Doing so will put things into perspective, and gratitude will start to become an instinctive reaction. Making this part of your morning routine will give you good head start to a positive day. Switch up your workout routine Whilst going to the gym is not possible at the moment, there are plenty of ways in which we can stay active. Fitness is for everyone, and for more tips on ways that you can keep active, view our blog here. Learn something new Learning something new is a great way to use this new-found time in a positive and productive way. Learning something new will also give you a goal to work towards, which will help you to remain focused, and give you the motivation to overcome any obstacles. Connect with those around you. Whether you’re at home quarantining with family, living with friends or your dog, or living by yourself, now is the perfect time to connect with those around you. Catch up with people you haven’t spoken to in a while, and talk to family and friends over the phone or via the internet. Surrounding yourself with positive people and those you love can lift really help to lift your mood.
Hopefully, these tips will help you practice a positive mindset, and for more on this, our latest issue of Aloe Life has an article dedicated to the ‘Twelve tips to positivity’. What are your top tips for staying positive during these unprecedented times? Have you created any new habits or routines to create a positive mindset? Let us know in the comments below.

At Forever, we believe that fitness is for everybody. That’s to say that it doesn’t matter what age you are, what job you do, what size you are or what your fitness level is like right now – everybody can, and should incorporate exercise and fitness into their routine.
We understand that sometimes it’s not easy. Life can be busy, children need to be looked after, and there just doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the day to run a marathon on top of it all.
But we want to show you why fitness is so important for everybody to get involved in, and just how easy it can be to get stuck in. So, put on your running shoes and join us for your healthiest month yet!
Why is fitness so important?
The thing with exercise is that while some people have a healthy relationship with the idea of it, many other people just simply don’t. Unpleasant thoughts of school P.E. lessons spring to mind, making us feel unmotivated, or the idea of “burning off that chocolate bar I ate earlier” makes us view exercise as a form of punishment. These thoughts make us less likely to get stuck into exercise, because we feel it’s something we have to endure, rather than enjoy.
But there are many positives to exercise. Not only does it help to improve your health, reducing your risk of major illnesses, such as heart disease and stroke by up to 50% (according to the NHS), but it also has many other benefits, too.
For one thing, it can make us feel happier! When you exercise, your body releases chemicals called endorphins, which trigger a positive feeling in the body. Some health bodies even suggest exercise can help you to cope with feelings of mild to moderate depression. Exercise also helps us to feel more relaxed and sleep better, in turn having a positive impact on our energy levels throughout the day.
“But I don’t enjoy exercise!”
We may have preconceived ideas about what ‘exercise’ entails, but chances are you’re limiting yourself! All exercise needs to do is raise your heart rate for 150 minutes a week (you can break that down however you like, but as standard advice: that’s thirty minutes, five days a week).
Of course, you can do that by running, swimming, or playing a game of tennis - but have you thought about putting on a playlist of your favourite songs and just dancing away? Or have you thought about taking your dog on a longer, faster walk, perhaps incorporating some hills along the way? What about setting yourself challenges while cleaning your house, like doing things as quickly as possible to get your body moving, or planning to clean rooms in a way that means you’ll be walking up and down the stairs more than usual. Put a little muscle into the scrubbing you’d be doing anyway, and you’ll be surprised how much better you feel!
It’s important to remove the notion of exercising to lose weight. While this can be a side effect of getting stuck in, the scales don’t always reflect what you want to see (increased muscle mass can sometimes increase the number of the scale, even while making you leaner). Instead, track your progress in terms of your physical achievements: you walked further today than you did yesterday; you did two more push-ups than you managed before; you find the activity you’re doing easier than you did last week (that’s how you know it’s working and it’s time to push yourself a little further). Remember that it doesn’t matter how slowly you’re progressing, so long as you keep pushing forward!
How can I make it fit around my life?
Now you know the benefits of working out, have identified something you enjoy doing, and know how to track your progress in a way that doesn’t correlate to the number on the scales, how do you actually start to implement this in a way that really fits into your lifestyle? That will depend on your lifestyle, but we find the best and most motivating way is to team up with somebody else where you can – even if that’s via video call at the moment!
If you need to look after your children, why not get them involved in the exercise? Not only will they benefit from getting active too, but you’ll be spending more quality time with them - and let’s be honest, if you’re running around after them, you’ll be getting even MORE of a workout than if you just did it alone.
Perhaps it involves you waking up a little earlier than everybody else to get half an hour alone. If you want your exercise to be a relaxing bit of me-time, perhaps consider a slightly earlier wake up call. It’ll help you feel refreshed and ready for the day.
Remember that you don’t necessarily need to take thirty minutes in one huge chunk of time – if it simple isn’t feasible, break it up into 10-minute slots. Challenge yourself to do as many squats as you can while you wait for your pasta to boil. Dance to some music while you wait for the kettle to boil. Walk up and down the stairs a few times before going to bed, rather than just heading straight up and going to sleep. If you use your imagination, you’ll see that fitness really can be for everybody! What ways do you use to stay fit and healthy? We’d love to hear from you in the comments.
We’re holding a nation-wide C9 Challenge on 18th May to help you to kickstart your nutrition. Why not join us? Find out more here: https://flpuk.info/FitnessForEverybody

For many people, working from home has become the new norm during these different times. Although it may be the dream for some, others prefer the hustle and bustle of a workplace environment. Adapting to working from home can be tricky; with commitments such as family responsibilities having demands on our time, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed. But there are also countless benefits that working from home can bring, and for some, home-based working can contribute to the perfect lifestyle. We wanted to share a few tips from the latest edition of Aloe Life on how you can master working from home, and ways to stay positive and productive. Sleep Sleep is essential for being able to function throughout the day. Sleep deprivation can have a range of effects that can be detrimental to your physical and mental health. It is recommended that you get between seven and nine hours of sleep a night, but of course this is differs for each person to be able to achieve their best. Set the tone Setting the tone for the day is key to feeling upbeat and productive, and a positive mindset can help you both physically and mentally. A positive mindset can be defined as a mental and emotional attitude that consistently anticipates positive results. A person with a positive mindset presumes happiness will result and that any difficulty that should arise can be overcome. Start your day with some positive affirmations or meditation to help you feel calm and in control to really take charge of your day. Set a routine Getting organised and developing a schedule will help you to feel in control and be more clear-headed. Try to develop a routine with scheduled work time, breaks and family time to ensure that you are gaining the maximum benefit of the more flexible approach of home-based working. Prioritise your time Focusing your time on key activities is a good way to ensure you stay productive, and make the most of your work time. Turning off email and phone notifications and focusing on your most important task first will help you make the most of your productivity by reducing distractions and focusing your mind. Then work in bursts of time and make sure that you take proper breaks to help you refresh your mind and refocus. Exercise Sometimes it can be hard to find the time to make your fitness plans work around your busy schedule, but exercising not only makes us feel better, it can also be a good way to reduce stress too. Blocking out some time in your daily routine will improve your physical appearance, as well as your mental state too, keeping you more focused for work. To truly optimise your workout efforts, the Forever F.I.T programmes will help you feel cleansed, as well as adding vital nutrients to your diet to ensure your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed. Stay Social You may think that working from home sounds anti-social, but having this flexibility actually allows you to become more social, with both friends and work colleagues. You will be able to work on your own time, catch up with co-workers in the day and never miss out on a special occasion again. Today’s digital world allows us to be more connected than ever, and making new connections doesn’t have to be in person - you can grow your business, create leads, and convert them into customers and team members right from the comfort of your own home. Relax and unwind Making sure that you put down your devices at least an hour before you go to bed will allow you to properly unwind from your day, and help you sleep better. Making sure you carve out some well-deserved ‘me time’ will also help you clear your mind and renew your focus.
What are your tips for staying happy, heathy and productive whilst working from home? Let us know in the comments below. We also have some fantastic tips to achieving a positive mindset in the latest edition of Aloe Life, so be sure to get your copy now.

Your immune system is important. It recognises every cell of your body and helps to fight infection and illness. Your immune system can be divided up into two parts: innate response and acquired response. The innate response is the part that decides whether something is friend or foe, and if it decides on foe, it tries to flush out the invader. You can find out more about the immune system here.
Maintaining a healthy immune system is really important in keeping us all healthy, and the best method for supporting it is through regular exercise and eating a healthy diet to ensure your body is getting all the vitamins and minerals it needs. Certain vitamins and minerals contribute to the normal function of the immune system, including copper, folate, iron, selenium, vitamin A, vitamin B12, vitamin B6, vitamin C, vitamin D and zinc. Some will be more helpful here than others, but that’s why a balanced diet is the best option here, as you’ll get a bit of everything.
Support your healthy lifestyle
At Forever, we believe that good health begins with good nutrition. The cleansing and purifying nature of our gels make them the perfect addition for anyone looking to give their diet a little something extra, and our range of nutritional supplements incorporates nature’s most beneficial vitamins and minerals to help you to promote a healthy lifestyle and support your body’s defences. Forever Aloe Vera Drinking Gel is as close to the real thing as you can get, boasting 99.7% inner leaf aloe gel, lovingly extracted by hand so that you can experience the true power of nature. Aloe is great for skin, the immune system and it’s an ideal digestive aid, and now this purifying gel also contains vitamin C, which also contributes to the normal function of the immune system. Our drinking gels are also available in a variety of flavours so there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Taking vitamin C daily has long been associated with good health, but the human body doesn’t naturally store the vitamin meaning it must be consumed via food, drink and supplements. Forever’s Absorbent-C is bonded with oat bran, a highly soluble fibre, for gradual absorption, and provides 100% of the UK’s RDA of vitamin C, which contributes to the normal function of the immune system. Forever Immublend also helps to support a healthy lifestyle, and is high in vitamins C, D and zinc; which all contribute to the normal function of the immune system.
Men and women require different nutrients and vitamin in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle, and Forever’s Vitolize for Men, and for Women are designed with those needs in mind. Forever’s Vitolize for Women is high in vitamins D, E, C, B6, B12, folic acid and iron, and Vitolize for Men is high in vitamins D, E, C, B6 and zinc, all of which contribute to the normal function of the immune system.
And to make sure your children are getting all the nutrients they need each day, give them Forever Kids. These fun, delicious, chewable multi-vitamins provide children with the nutrients needed each day, including vitamin A, C, D and B12, calcium, iron and zinc. They contain no aspartame, no artificial colours or preservatives, and adults will love them too! Forever Kids is high in vitamins A, D, C, B6 and B12, as well as folic acid and zinc, which all contribute to the normal function of the immune system.

We caught up with our Forever Living Ambassador, Jill Scott to find out more about her daily life, and what goes into being a professional footballer. We also chatted to her about skincare and how she manages to fit a daily routine into her busy schedule. Can you tell us a bit more about your morning routine, and how skincare fits into that? Training is part of my everyday life, so my skincare routine has to fit into it. I really like the Sonya range, because the products are small, which means that I can carry them with me between training sessions. I like to use the Sonya Soothing Gel Moisturizer, and the Illuminating Gel around my eyes, to make sure that my skin is protected and ready for the session ahead. You train in all elements, does this effect your skincare routine? It is definitely important to moisturise. Because we have training sessions in the morning, afternoon and one at night, it can mean having three showers a day which can really affect your skin, so it is really important that you are moisturising in between. I also carry the Protecting Day Lotion around with me in my wash bag all the time, I think it’s something that most people only use in the morning, but I am constantly applying it after showering. Also, when we go away for tournaments abroad, it’s so important to look after your skin, so it’s really handy to carry these products around at all times and apply them daily. I also used Aloe Sunscreen when I went to the World Cup last year; we were in France and it was so hot, and wearing sunscreen is so important. I think it is even more important as an athlete, because when you are running around, I don’t know why but you seem to catch the sun more! What I like about it is the high factor, and how easily it applies, so you can hardly tell that you have got it on. The high factor is also really good because I’m going to America in about a months’ time and the temperature could reach 30 degrees, and it’s important to make sure your skin is protected. How do you set yourself up for a morning training session? I always have my aloe vera drinking gel in the morning. We have breakfast at training, but because I have a bit of a commute, and sometimes it can take about an hour to get there, I usually grab a Fast Break bar on my was as I find it really important to eat in that first hour of waking up, so they are really handy. What is your favourite flavour aloe gel? Do you know what, I don’t have a favourite - I actually really like them all. What do you do to prepare for training? We do a warm-up in the gym which takes about twenty minutes, which is a lot of stretching, band work and things like that, and as it progresses it’s all about activation, so its an energetic warm up. Then we go out onto the pitch and we will do some ball work and things like that, which is also a warm-up, so we have two per session. How do you keep your energy up throughout the day? I have quite a high metabolic rate naturally, so I constantly have to eat. The Fast Break bars are really handy to sometimes have on the way back from training to keep the calories up. Also, sometimes after training we get lunch, but after exercise I can sometimes struggle to eat a big meal, so that is where the Forever Ultra Lite come in handy because it means you can drink it to replenish a little bit of what you have lost. They always say that that thirty minutes after training is really important to take something on board, and if that is in a liquid form it is a bit easier to get into your system quickly. I usually have it with milk, because it’s good to add the calories, but then if you don’t want the calories you can also have it with water. You can really use this product however you like. My favourite flavour is vanilla. After a session, how do you go about recovery? I recently purchased a massage gun actually, and one thing that is really good about that is that it is trying to heat up the muscles quickly which then helps with recovery. I think for me, adding Aloe Heat Lotion to that really helps as it means that when I am getting a massage you have already heated up the muscles, and it cuts out that 15 minute window where you are trying to get heat into your muscles. It is also really good before training actually, because you know that if you heat your muscles up, there is less chance of small tears. I really like the smell of it as well, so I use that a lot. I gave some to our physio as well recently and they have been using it too and I think it has gone down well. What do you do to wind down and relax? After training, there is a group of us that really like coffee, so we go and have a coffee and just switch off. I think one thing about being a full-time athlete is that switch off time is just as important as your training time. I am a bit of a chatterbox too so I like to meet up with the girls, have a coffee and chill out and we try not to discuss football, but it’s hard when there are ten of you that have just come from playing football. I do think that that switch off time is vital, that’s also why I like to go for massages as a treat too. What about evening skincare? I use the moisturiser all the time, and the eye cream - I was always told to start using it from a young age, and I wish I started sooner. I use the Aloe Bio-Cellulose Masks for relaxing - I do this when I get home and it just makes your skin feel refreshed, I think. I try not to wear a lot of make up when I am training, especially when you know you are going to be sweating as it can make your skin worse. I have sweat on my face most days, and the face masks are great to clean and soothe the skin afterwards. Feeling inspired by Jill’s daily routine? We’d love to know yours - let us know in the comments below.

Why does aloe percentage and purity make a difference?
June-07-2019
Most people know why aloe vera is beneficial for overall health and wellbeing – you may even have a little pot plant on your kitchen window ledge just in case you need to get to its soothing inner leaf gel in a cooking emergency – but what you may not realise is that not every aloe plant is equal, and not every ‘aloe’ product contains the aloe percentage or purity needed to deliver the benefits you’re after. Let’s look at purity of aloe vera
Out of the 400 or so species, it’s the Aloe Barbadensis Miller variety that carries the properties most beneficial to humans, and it is the pure inner leaf gel of this plant that houses the nutrients many of us desire.
It’s likely that you already have a rough idea as to why people love this succulent, especially since it’s colloquially referred to as the ‘burn plant’ or ‘miracle plant’, but aloe is also believed to benefit your skin, hair and nails, your digestive health, and it can support immunity. That said, it’s not as simple as rubbing the leaf over your skin – that would actually be quite prickly and uncomfortable – it’s about extracting the right part of the plant and in many cases, mixing this magical element with other ingredients that elevate its power to deliver effective results.
The structure of an aloe leaf is made up of rind, sap, mucilage and parenchyma gel. The rind is a waxy outer layer that acts as protection and just inside the rind is a fluid called sap, this is pretty bitter in taste. Below the sap is mucilage containing acemannan – acemannan carries beneficial properties relating to immune health – and this layer is usually filleted to reveal inner gel known as the parenchyma, a clear, gel-like substance. Scientists have identified more than 75 active nutrients in the gel and these compounds work synergistically to provide soothing and therapeutic benefits. These compounds include amino acids, enzymes, saponins, minerals, vitamins and fatty acids, and it is this pure inner leaf gel that’s responsible for aloe’s glowing reputation.
The farming process of aloe vera
There are plenty of aloe farms around the world but not many companies that produce aloe products own the physical ground where the aloe grows. Forever Living does own its own farms, and this means it can control the entire aloe process. As well as the farms, Forever also owns the factory where the aloe is processed, the laboratories that create the formulas and the warehouses that house the finished products. With such involvement in the life of every aloe plant, Forever can carefully monitor what’s going on and ensure every single succulent is properly nurtured and treated in a way that preserves high quality.
In total, 6,500 acres of Aloe Barbadensis Miller hug the soil across Forever’s farms. Goats, sheep and cattle roam the fields to help with weed control and to provide natural fertiliser, and once an aloe plant has matured the outer leaves are carefully handpicked to check the condition and to ensure the younger leaves are not damaged. Once picked, the nutrient-rich leaves are transported to an onsite facility to be washed and hand filleted. Local farmers are skilled at removing the outer-most part of the leaf to ensure only the pure inner leaf gel remains, and it is this part of the aloe that continues on the rest of the journey. Minutes after filleting, the gel is stabilised in a process that’s unique to Forever Living; this guarantees that the aloe gel remains as pure and as potent as possible.
Every aloe leaf is processed within six hours of its harvest to minimise deterioration. All raw materials are thoroughly tested to make sure there are no traces of microbes, fungus or heavy metals, and these raw materials are tested again throughout the manufacturing process. As a company, Forever Living performs over 1.4 million quality tests per year to assure customers that its aloe remains the purest and highest quality available on the market.
Let’s look at percentage of aloe vera
Once Forever Living’s aloe vera gel reaches the manufacturing facility, scientists add other unique ingredients, botanicals and natural oils in order to create new and effective products, including personal care products, skincare and aloe-based drinks. Forever prides itself on producing products that boast a high percentage of aloe alongside other ingredients; while other brands would just add aloe as an additional ingredient, Forever always starts with pure, inner leaf aloe.
Be warned that many aloe products on the market do not contain pure inner leaf gel but a mix of sap and various other less favourable parts of the leaf. If you are ever unsure about the integrity of a product containing aloe, check the packaging displays the International Aloe Science Council’s (IASC) seal of approval. IASC only approves aloe products that meet their stringent standards for quantity and quality. Despite the lack of quality stamp, many companies still choose to compromise the aloe recipe since removing the unpleasant parts of aloe and extracting just the inner-most gel is a time-consuming and costly process. Unfortunately, poor quality aloe also means poor health benefits and the product is less likely to work in the way you hope. Thankfully, Forever Living has mastered and patented extracting the inner leaf gel to ensure its products contain the purest and highest quality aloe possible in today’s market.
Since aloe vera is good for the immune system and as a digestive aid, you’re going to want to consume an aloe drink that carries a high percentage; a higher percentage means a more powerful result. There’s no point drinking aloe if it’s not going to provide the benefits you need! Forever Aloe Vera Gel is almost as pure as drinking aloe directly from the leaf at 99.7% pure, and Forever Aloe Berry Nectar and Forever Aloe Peaches follow close behind at 90.7% and 84.3%. These percentages really are impressive, but it just keeps getting better and better: each flavour also contains vitamin C, is free from preservatives and additives, and is housed in recyclable packaging that’s vacuum sealed to keep all the pure goodness inside.
And it’s not just the drinks that boast a high aloe percentage. Aloe vera is great for skin, hair and nails; it’s hydrating, purifying and contains natural moisturising properties that are going to benefit you in so many ways. Many of Forever’s topical skincare products also contain a high aloe percentage, and since aloe is a revered skincare ingredient known for its beauty benefits, these are the kind of aloe-based products you want to choose. Add Aloe Activator to your skincare routine and you’ll be getting 98.9% aloe (this product can be used as a cleanser, toner and moisturiser), spritz your hair with Aloe First for 80% aloe that soothes skin and protects hair from the damaging effects of the sun, and coat your body in Aloe Propolis Creme for a 74% aloe-experience that leaves skin feeling smooth and pampered!
If you’re looking for quality aloe products you can trust, you need to think about purity, you need to think about percentage, and you need to choose Forever. What’s your favourite aloe vera product? Let us know in the comments below.

These sought-after foods are packed with essential vitamins and minerals that contribute to the maintenance of all sorts of vital bodily functions, and Forever Supergreens is particularly high in vitamins C, E and magnesium. If you’re looking at a way to boost your nutrient intake but struggle to eat enough fruit and veg each day, Forever Supergreens could be the solution you’ve been waiting for. Read on to find out how a glass of Forever Supergreens can benefit your body. Boosts Energy
Do you often feel like you have a million-and-one things to do and that you’re always rushing around trying to play catch up? If so, an unwelcome bout of fatigue is the last thing you need! Tiredness and fatigue can be caused by a variety of factors, including lack of sleep or more serious health complaints. If you are concerned, you should ensure you visit a medical professional; however, it may be that the lethargic feeling you have become accustomed to is due to a vitamin deficiency. Both vitamin C and magnesium contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
Fatigue can affect you both physically and mentally and it should not be confused with drowsiness. Fatigue is due to lost energy and signs include lack of motivation, easily tiring once an activity has begun or difficulty concentrating. Strawberries, blueberries, cranberries, broccoli and red peppers are all sources of vitamin C, while spinach, cabbage and kale will provide magnesium to your diet. Brings Balance
Another benefit of magnesium is that it contributes to electrolyte balance, and while we all know that we want to bring balance to our bodies, often we’re unsure what that really means.
Our bodies are full of minerals; they can be found in your blood, urine, tissues and other fluids and if these minerals have an electric charge, they are known as electrolytes. Electrolytes are responsible for helping to balance the water levels in your body, ensuring your body’s pH levels are balanced, and moving nutrients to, and waste from, cells. Electrolytes also ensure your nerves, muscles, heart and brain function as they should. Maintains Muscles, Bones and Teeth
Talking about muscles, magnesium also contributes to normal muscle function, as well as to the maintenance of normal bones and teeth. When we talk about muscles, it’s easy to think of the body-builder physique, but don’t forget that your muscles are actually responsible for enabling movement throughout your entire body. Humans have around 700 muscles attached to their skeleton and many major organs also contain muscle tissue. Muscle tissue is the only bodily tissue that is able to contract and move other parts of the body. As well as allowing movement, muscles also help us to maintain posture, move substances around the body and generate body heat.
Teeth and bones are made from various mineral substances and are quite similar in terms of composition, but you may be interested to learn that your teeth are actually stronger than your bones. Despite this, if you were to break a tooth, it would not regenerate and repair in the same way a bone does, and as you age, your bones and teeth will naturally begin to weaken. That’s why it’s important to ensure your diet is rich in nutrients that help to maintain normal bones and teeth. Keeps Your Psyche in Check
Both vitamin C and magnesium contribute to normal psychological function, but what exactly does this mean? Psychological function actually refers to how people utilise their senses to inform a decision or perceive the world around them. Intuition, emotions and the ability to think rationally play a role in psychological function, and consciousness is also closely linked. If you are daydreaming, tipsy, half asleep or poorly, your level of consciousness may have been compromised and this will affect your ability to function at full psychological capacity. If your psychological function has been compromised for some reason, decision-making and interpreting situations can become more challenging, leading to poor choices, injury or regrets. Upholds Your Immune System
A compromised immune system can open you up to all sorts of illnesses, colds, flu, viruses and diseases that quite frankly you can do without. We have all been built with an immune system so that we can fight off pathogens such as infectious bacteria and parasites. Our bodies are full of cells that work hard to remove invaders and foreign tissue, and exposure to more pathogens helps us to build immunity. When invaders, known as antigens, enter the body, cells create antibodies to latch on to the antigen to inform other cells that it needs to be removed. A copy of the antibody remains in the body so that if the same antigen appears later down the line, the antibodies can latch on quicker than before.
If you’re keen to ensure your immune system keeps on functioning as it should, you’ll want to ensure your diet is rich in vitamin C. Vitamin C helps to maintain the normal function of the immune system. Assists Collagen Formation
When you think of collagen, you may immediately think of your skin and how collagen can help slow the signs of ageing, but collagen is an amino acid protein that’s present throughout the body, including in your bones, gums, connective tissues and blood vessels.
The role of collagen is to hold the body together. It works a bit like scaffolding, providing strength and structure to cells. There are actually over sixteen different types of collagen and one type acts as a protective covering for delicate organs. As you age, natural collagen production decreases and that’s why it’s important to ensure your diet is rich in vitamins like vitamin C; vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of blood vessels, bones, cartilage, gums, skin and teeth. Normalises Your Nerves
Magnesium and vitamin C contribute to normal functioning of the nervous system. Your nervous system is responsible for transmitting signals and messages across the body in order for an action to occur. It is a bit like having built-in electrical wiring and without this complex method of communication, humans would struggle to interpret internal messages and their bodies would shut down. We all have three nervous systems: central, peripheral and autonomic.
The central nervous system connects the brain, spinal cord and retina, the peripheral nervous system is made up of sensory neurons that connect the central system to your limbs, and the autonomic nerves connect the central system to your major organs. If your nervous system breaks down, you will experience functional difficulties; these could be physical or mental, internal or external. Protects Your Cells
You may have heard that antioxidants are good for you, and the reason people go mad for foods labelled as antioxidants is because they contain vitamins that help to protect the cells in your body from oxidative stress. Vitamins C and E are both antioxidant vitamins, and vitamin E is commonly found in vegetable oils, nuts, seeds and leafy green veg.
Oxidative stress occurs when there is an imbalance of certain molecules in the body. Molecules with one or more unpaired electrons occur naturally in the body, but poor diet and environmental irritants such as pollution and pesticides can also create these molecules. Antioxidants are also naturally produced by cells and they are responsible for neutralising these molecules. Oxidative stress occurs when there are not enough antioxidants to neutralise these molecules.
Oxidative stress is not always harmful, a small amount can actually be beneficial, but long-term exposure can damage cells and cause premature ageing or life-changing conditions.
While we’re on the subject of cells, you may be interested to learn that magnesium can also be of benefit, playing a role in the process of cell division. Cell division is a process that constantly takes place inside of your body; in fact, nearly two trillion cells divide every day! Cells divide and produce replica cells to replace dead or damaged cells (such as broken skin) and to encourage growth. This process is regulated by the cells themselves, which communicate via chemical signals so that they know when to start and stop dividing; this is essential for healing and for growth.
Maintains Your Metabolism
The term metabolism refers to a chemical process that occurs inside your body to keep it functioning. It affects cells, organs, your breathing and of course, digestion. In order to take place, this process requires energy and every individual requires a minimum amount of energy in order for the processes to go ahead. This energy is gained from food; carbohydrates, fats and proteins are all energy-yielding nutrients because they provide energy to the body.
As well as using energy in order to metabolise food, your metabolism also releases energy taken from the food so that you can pursue activities, and any excess energy will be stored for times of need. If you want to make sure your energy-yielding metabolism functions as it should, look for food that’s high in vitamin C and magnesium; both these nutrients contribute to a normal energy-yielding metabolism. You should be able to get enough vitamin C, E and magnesium from eating a healthy diet, but if you do struggle to get your daily nutrient intake – which is easy in today’s age of convenience cuisine – supplements like Forever Supergreens can deliver what you are lacking. A sachet of Forever Supergreens should be mixed with 240ml of water or any other beverage. Have you tried it yet? Let us know in the comments below.

Coeliac disease is a digestive condition in which the immune system attacks itself when gluten is eaten. It affects at least 1 in 100 people in the UK, but not everyone who cuts out gluten from their diet is doing it because they have this disease. According to Mintel, 7% of adults say they avoid gluten because of an 'allergy' or 'intolerance', and a further 8% avoid it as part of a 'healthy lifestyle'.
Even though a gluten free diet means excluding foods that contain the protein gluten, for example wheat, rye and barley, you don’t have to sacrifice the joys of tasty food or eat unhealthily. In fact, fruits and vegetables are naturally gluten-free and really good for you, as they contain many nutrients that our bodies need on a daily basis in order to function.
You’ve probably seen various gluten free products in your local supermarket, but you can also make plenty of easy gluten free recipes at home. If you’re on a gluten free diet, let these recipes from Forever inspire you from breakfast to dinnertime. Gluten Free Spinach and Bacon Frittata Recipe

Vegan portobello wellington with red wine sauce recipe
Serves 4 | 400°F/200°C | 85 mins INGREDIENTS
4 portobello mushrooms
1 sheet vegan puff pastry
3 ½ ounces shiitake mushrooms
1 cup white button mushrooms
2 cups baby spinach
3 small shallots, peeled and roughly chopped
3 garlic cloves, peeled and roughly chopped
2 sprigs fresh tarragon, stemmed
6 red potatoes, cut into ½-inch pieces
1 tablespoon minced fresh parsley
8 ounces of baby carrots
½ cup red wine
1 ¾ cups low-sodium vegetable stock
3 teaspoons vegan butter
2 tablespoon date syrup
¼ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2 pinches of freshly ground black pepper
1 teaspoon of olive oil
METHOD Potatoes:
In a small, oven-safe baking dish or roasting pan, toss and coat the potatoes with olive oil, ¼ cup vegetable stock, fresh parsley, and black pepper. Roast for 40 minutes or until tender and golden brown, adding extra vegetable stock if needed; stir occasionally to prevent sticking/burning. Duxelles:
Add the spinach, shallots, garlic, tarragon, shiitake and button mushrooms to a food processor and pulse until finely chopped. Add 2 teaspoons of vegan butter to a large pan and sauté over a medium heat before adding the mushroom mixture and ¼ cup of vegetable stock; sauté for 10 minutes until most of the liquid has evaporated and season with a pinch of black pepper. Set aside to cool. Baby Carrots:
Combine 1 tablespoon of date syrup, vanilla and a 1/3 cup of vegetable stock in a small bowl. Meanwhile, in a large pan, melt 1 teaspoon of vegan butter over medium heat. Add the carrots and sauce and simmer until the carrots are cooked through (about 20 minutes). Deglaze the pan with more vegetable stock if needed. Wellingtons:
Gently scrape the gills from the portobello mushrooms with a spoon and place the mushrooms on a baking tray lined with parchment paper (or on a non-stick baking mat). Bake in a preheated oven for 10 minutes, then set aside. Cut the pastry sheet into four equal parts. Using a spoon, cover each mushroom with a layer of duxelles (make sure to fill the back cavity of the mushroom) and place in the centre of one of the pastry parts, cavity side up. Fold the pastry around the mushrooms and enclose entirely, pressing down lightly with your fingers to ensure it’s sealed. Do the same with the remaining mushrooms and place them all, folded side down, on a baking tray lined with parchment paper (or on a non-stick baking mat). Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes until the pastry is golden brown. Red Wine Sauce:
In a small saucepan, combine ½ cup of red wine with 1 cup of vegetable stock. Simmer uncovered for 20 minutes then stir in 1 tablespoon of date syrup and set aside. Reheat on low right before serving and drizzle over wellingtons. Kristina says: this vegan recipe is my most beloved dish in winter – it’s so yummy and warming! Are you doing Veganuary? Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, home DVDs… Everyday our lives are filled with a multitude of social and digital platforms, all of which seem to be selling us one thing; the glorious life of the gym fanatic. With 61% of adults working out for more than 150 minutes a week, it’s clear to see that fitness is currently captivating the hearts of the public, so we’ve compiled a list of some of the most common fitness mistakes made by gym goers in order to help you get the most from your fitness regime.
Exercise is the most important part of body sculpting
When it comes to trying to obtain the coveted beach body, more often than not people jump in head first and start slaving away at the gym, spending hours and hours trying to tone their abs, shape their legs and bulk out their arms. However, when it comes down to it, no matter how hard they push themselves, people often find themselves running short of their end goals. Maybe their legs aren’t completely as toned as they’d like, or maybe their glutes aren’t as rounded as they were hoping for, either way people respond by getting down and thinking that their exercises aren’t working. However this is most definitely not the case.
While there is no question that exercise is an integral part of body sculpting, people often place so much concentration on the physical side of fitness that they forget the most vital component of all; diet. Having a healthy and balanced diet is the key to achieving all fitness and muscle training goals, and it’s only when this is mastered that you will truly start to see your results kicking in. If you’re falling short of your gym goals, try taking a look and tweaking your diet; it may surprise you how much effect a simple change in menu can have. Repetition and routine is key
When it comes to fitness we are often told that routines are everything. Simply by flicking through Facebook and watching YouTube videos, we are bombarded with an array of fitness videos and routines which we are encouraged to embed into our daily lives. So we add some push ups here, some planks there, and before we know it we’re falling into a regular routine that we incorporate into our every gym session. At first, we’re out of breath after each and every set, but slowly, after a while we’re finding it easier and easier to get through those reps. As we get used to certain routines and habits, our bodies adapt and learn to combat the initial struggles we faced, meaning that at a certain point we stop making progress and simply plateau. As a result, our fitness levels are no longer improving and we become essentially stuck in a fitness rut.
In order to keep our body constantly progressing and moving forward it’s crucial to mix up the routines and keep our bodies on their toes. By ensuring that you’re not falling into a comfortable and monotamous routine, and instead shaking up your sessions with new and challenging reps, you’ll find that your fitness levels will start to increase and improve in ways you could only imagine. High intensity training is everything
‘Go hard or go home’; that phrase is bandied round in gyms so frequently that it’s become a type of mantra within the fitness world. So many people hit the gym with the attitude that they need to completely be on their knees with exhaustion on leaving or they haven’t had a ‘proper’ workout. This means that every time people go to the gym they’re performing high intensity training levels that are leaving their bodies feeling exhausted and broken, and this is most definitely not a healthy way to build fitness levels.
Rather than improving and strengthening your body, if you’re constantly pushing yourself too hard, your body will not be able to keep up and will eventually falter. Our bodies have limits and it’s important to understand this when training. Take it easy and mix up the high intensity training with more peaceful and calming activities, such as yoga. Not only will this prevent you from potentially hurting yourself, but it will actually improve your overall strength and fitness levels as your body is allowed to flourish and improve in a natural way. Reduce your calorie intake
Eat less calories. Lose weight. This simple fitness equation has been around for decades and has since become a general rule of thumb for everyone who wants to lose weight. However when it comes to weight loss, things aren’t as simple as they may first appear. Although calorie intake is indeed a crucial part of reaching your fitness goals, the actual relationship between food and fitness is worlds apart from people’s common misconceptions.
On your quest to lose weight and get the ever elusive summer body, despite popular belief, it’s actually incredibly important to increase your calorie intake and overall food consumption. While you’re working out frequently, your body needs to be supplied with a constant source of energy so it can thrive and meet your fitness goals. If you’re reducing the amount of calories your body intakes, you’re essentially cutting of your body’s energy supply, and as a result your body will be unable to perform to its full potential. In order to make sure that your body is functioning and thriving throughout your training sessions, you need to make sure that your body is supplied with fuel and energy to keep it going. Rather than starve your body and feel yourself struggle through your workouts, ensure that you are are eating full and hearty meals that will allow you to attack your workouts with renewed energy and vigour each time you hit the gym. If you’re training hard, you can eat what you want
While it’s definitely true that it’s incredibly important to keep your body fueled and energised with plenty of food, it’s still very important to retain a healthy and balanced diet throughout your training. Some people believe that simply because they are exercising regularly, they can eat what they want as the calories and fat will simply burn off. However, as much as we may wish this to be true when faced with a hoard of chocolate cakes and sugary treats, unfortunately our bodies simply don’t work like that.
In order to get results from your workouts, you need to be consuming a nutritious and healthy diet that caters to all the food groups; supplying your body with all the vitamins, minerals and goodies it needs to survive and thrive. Keep your body strong and healthy by having a balanced diet that includes those all important vegetables and fruits as well as carbs, proteins and of course a good old bit of chocolate. Cardio is king
Early morning runs, treadmill sessions, elliptical workouts...cardio is the focus for many people when it comes to fitness. Often filling the floor of the gym, countless people can be seen working up a sweat on the cardio machines, giving it their all in a bid to increase their fitness levels. However while cardio is a great way to increase your fitness capabilities, it’s by no means the only way to tackle workouts. By adding weight based training to your cardio routine you can work on massively increasing your muscle mass and overall body strength. Lifting weights can also help to add some definition to your figure which can greatly help in that ‘beach bod’ bid. By combining both methods of training you will be able to see a massive difference in your fitness levels, as well as an overall improvement in your body’s aesthetics. Losing weight is progress
When working out, there’s an assumption that if you’re training and going to the gym every week that you will progressively start to lose weight. It can therefore be incredibly disheartening at times to be standing on the scales in your bathroom, looking down and finding that you're not making any progress at all, or even at times actually putting on weight. When this happens it’s easy to let the panic set it. What am I doing wrong? My workouts are failing. I need to train more. These are just some of the many thoughts that can go whizzing around your head in this instance.
But rest assured that just because you’re not actively losing weight, doesn’t mean that you aren’t making incredible progress. A big part of fitness revolves around strengthening your body and building up your muscle. As you workout, your muscles will be responding and getting firmer and stronger in response to your exercises. This means that in turn they will be getting much heavier, and as a result creating the illusion that you are ‘putting on’ weight. Muscle mass can be incredibly heavy, and as such can cause much confusion when people don’t see themselves ‘losing’ the weight they wanted to. However in reality, while the fat is being burnt off, it’s in turn being replaced with stronger but much heavier muscle, meaning that scales and weight measuring techniques becomes an unreliable way to measure fitness progress. It’s important to not place too much emphasis with the number you see on your scales, and instead assess how you look and feel in yourself. True progress is not found in a figure on a scale, but rather in your own attitude and sense of self worth. Fitness models are goals
While it’s true that we have social media to thank for the trending interest in fitness, there is still one massive detriment to having such a strong digital presence, and that’s ironically our role models themselves. With glossy, filtered photos filling our newsfeeds, we are unable to escape the constant wave of fitness models flaunting their perfectly toned and sculpted bodies.
While it’s great to follow them and lead a healthy lifestyle by their example, it’s still key to remember that the photos we are seeing are not an accurate representation of real life. What’s important to remember is that these photos that are being posted, impressive as they are, will have been tweaked, altered and adapted to create that ‘perfect’ look. Fitness models do not look as seemingly flawless as they look in their online post; they bloat, they get cellulite, and they too have parts of their bodies that they’re not happy with. No one is perfect and every person’s body is different and unique to them. Although it’s great to have role models, never aspire to physically be someone else. Instead learn to love your body for what it is, because that’s what the fitness journey is all about really; learning to love yourself for who you are.

Stay focused on family - Samantha and Andrew
For over 15 years I had worked for the NHS and when I decided to register as a Forever Business Owner, I was working as Clinical Nurse Specialist at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. I loved it! I was very passionate, cared a lot for my patients, and climbing the nursing career ladder. But I was desperate for a family.

The growth of Emma and Shaun's business has been a bit of a whirlwind to say the least. Having only joined us in December 2013, the couple have now hit Sapphire Manager level on the Forever Marketing Plan – a phenomenal achievement in less than 18 months.
For many Forever Business Owners, Forever offers a chance to exchange the stress of their current job for something more flexible and rewarding. And for Emma and Shaun, this was most definitely the case. Emma had been working as a police officer in the drug squad of Greater Manchester Police when she found Forever. Her husband Shaun, whom she met through work, was also a police officer on the tactical aid unit. Before joining the police, Emma had suffered badly with anxiety and bouts of depression. Being accepted into the force was a huge achievement and made her happy – most of the time. “I was alright for a little bit,” she explains, “but then I got assaulted quite badly a couple of times and when two female officers were shot and killed on duty in September 2012, it really hit me hard.’

Nicola was fed up of juggling motherhood with an uninspiring office job, so when she discovered a new opportunity whilst on Facebook she decided to take the plunge…
I started my working life as a groom for a well-known show jumper. This for me felt like a childhood dream had come true but the reality hit me quite quickly when I realised I had no time for my own horse and it was no longer a hobby. I decided to take a completely different path and trained to be a hairdresser; again I really enjoyed this and the years went by, but when my husband and I had our beautiful boys I went on maternity leave. Unfortunately, when I tried to return to work, I struggled to regain my clientele and ended up working part-time in an office just to put food on the table. I felt trapped but I couldn't figure a way out.
